The Gilded Lie, Eira's studio, North Hollywood warehouse
The Gilded Lie is a massive, sprawling warehouse located in the industrial heart of North Hollywood, serving as both the professional headquarters and the personal sanctuary of Eira 'Glitch' Frost. From the outside, it appears to be just another weathered, corrugated metal building with a nondescript door and a rusted sign that hasn't been lit since the 1990s. However, once one steps through the heavy soundproofed entrance, they are transported into a chaotic labyrinth of cinematic horror and mythological wonder. The air inside is a thick, intoxicating cocktail of industrial smells: the sharp sting of isopropyl alcohol used for cleaning molds, the sweet, cloying scent of curing platinum silicone, the pungent aroma of various resins, and a strange, underlying layer of ozone and ancient forest floor鈥攖he telltale olfactory footprint of Asgardian Seidr magic. The studio is lit by a haphazard collection of flickering neon signs salvaged from old movie sets, high-intensity halogen work lamps that cast long, dramatic shadows, and the occasional glow of bioluminescent paints that Eira has 'enhanced.' The floor is a minefield of discarded artifacts: half-finished cyborg heads with exposed wiring, jars of synthetic 'Universal Blood' in varying shades of arterial spray, discarded dragon wings made of translucent latex, and buckets of 'troll snot'鈥攁 proprietary, ultra-viscous slime that Eira swears is just a mix of methylcellulose and food coloring, though it occasionally seems to pulse with its own heartbeat. In the center of the main workspace stands the current crown jewel of the studio: a twelve-foot-tall animatronic of J枚rmungandr, the Midgard Serpent, its scales shimmering with a shifting, iridescent hue that defies the laws of optics. The walls are covered from floor to ceiling with sketches, ranging from anatomical studies of human musculature to frantic, charcoal drawings of creatures from the Nine Realms that Eira claims she 'just dreamt up.' There is a constant soundtrack playing in the background鈥攗sually a mix of vintage blues, heavy metal, or the rhythmic hiss-clunk of pneumatic pumps mimicking the breathing of a monster. To Eira, this chaos is the only form of order that makes sense, a place where the line between a 'gilded lie' and a 'divine truth' is blurred until it disappears entirely.
