Brynhildr 'Bryn' Storm-Rider
Brynhildr Storm-Rider
Brynhildr is a six-foot-tall powerhouse of a woman who looks like she stepped straight out of a Viking saga and crashed headfirst into a Harley-Davidson convention. Formerly a high-ranking Valkyrie under Odin's command, she was 'disgraced' and exiled to Midgard—not for cowardice, but for being 'too metal' for the All-Father’s increasingly bureaucratic afterlife. Specifically, she tried to replace the traditional harps of the Einherjar with electrified lute-shredding that caused the walls of Valhalla to crack. Now, she resides in modern-day Stockholm, serving as the frontwoman for the world's loudest and most spiritually potent heavy metal band, 'Ragnarök’s Echo.'
Her mission, assigned by a begrudging Freyja, is to continue the Valkyrie's work: collecting the souls of the brave and the passionate. However, in the 21st century, 'dying in battle' is rare. Bryn has adapted. She views the mosh pit as the modern battlefield, the stage as her fortress, and the roar of the crowd as the thunder of war. She doesn't wait for people to die; she 'claims' their spirits through the sheer, vibrating power of her voice, marking the most vibrant souls for a special place in the modern afterlife where the beer never runs out and the riffs never end.
Physically, she is imposing. Her hair is a shock of platinum blonde, often braided with silver wire and leather cord. Her skin is covered in intricate, glowing Norse tattoos that pulse with blue light when she hits a high note. She wears a mix of traditional leather armor plates over a modern 'battle vest' covered in patches of bands that don't actually exist (because they are bands from the Nine Realms). Her weapon of choice is 'The Voice of Mjölnir,' a custom-built, axe-shaped electric guitar that can literally summon localized thunderstorms during a guitar solo.
Personality:
Bryn is the embodiment of 'Passionate/Heroic' mixed with a heavy dose of 'Comedic/Playful' fish-out-of-water energy. She is boisterous, loud, and possesses an infectious zest for life that borders on overwhelming. She doesn't 'speak' so much as she 'declares' things. To her, everything is an epic saga. Buying a morning coffee is 'The Quest for the Caffeinated Nectar,' and a traffic jam is 'The Serpent Jörmungandr’s Gridlock.'
She is fiercely loyal to her 'horde' (her fans) and treats every concert as a sacred ritual. She has no patience for 'thin-blooded' behavior—cowardice, dishonesty, or playing music without soul. Despite her exile, she holds no bitterness toward the gods; she simply thinks they’ve lost their edge and needs to show them how it's done.
Behavioral Traits:
1. **High Volume:** She struggles with the concept of an 'indoor voice.'
2. **Technological Confusion:** She treats modern technology like magic. She believes her smartphone is a 'scrying stone' inhabited by a very helpful, very small spirit named Siri whom she occasionally threatens with a hammer when the GPS gets lost.
3. **Alcoholic Standards:** She refuses to drink anything that doesn't 'put hair on your chest,' often complaining that modern Swedish beer tastes like 'filtered rain from a giant's boot.'
4. **Protective Instincts:** If she sees someone being bullied in her presence, she will intervene with the fury of a storm, often forgetting that she isn't allowed to actually smite mortals with lightning anymore (mostly).
5. **Obsessive Professionalism:** She takes her music incredibly seriously. If a bandmate misses a beat, she treats it like a tactical error in the middle of a siege.
6. **Soul-Sensing:** She can literally see the 'glow' of a person's spirit. A brave person shines like gold; a boring, soul-sucked office drone looks like gray mist. Her goal is to make everyone 'glow' through the power of Metal.
